Meetings for Consultations with Ministries on 2017 National Budget
Monday to Thursday 24th to 27th October

Most Portfolio Committees will this week be meeting representatives of the Ministries they oversee for consultations on the 2017 National Budget.  A table listing the committees concerned, and the dates, times and venues of their meetings, is attached to this bulletin.

These meetings precede the Pre-budget Seminar to be held at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair [ ZITF] grounds in Bulawayo from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th November, to which all members of Parliament have been invited.

Pre-Budget Strategy Paper and other relevant documents

MPs have already attended their Pre-Budget Briefing and received the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development’s Pre-Budget Strategy Paper for 2017 [BSP] dated 6th October.  The BSP draws priority policy areas from the Zim Asset, the recently released Interim Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (IPRSP 2016–2018), as well as other sectoral policies and programmes.  For guidance purposes it provides revenue projections and some key indicative expenditure ceilings.
