Rhino poachers jailed

A Zimbabwean and a South African were last week sentenced to 21 years in jail for poaching two black rhinos worth $240 at Bubye Valley Conservancy in Beitbridge.

Dovhani Sibanda, 32, of Driehoek resettlement area in Beitbridge and Mateu Mahlangu, 23, of E320 Rustenburg in Johannesburg pleaded not guilty to charges of contravening sections of the Parks and Wildlife and Firearms Acts.

They were, however, convicted by Beitbridge Provincial Magistrate, Auxillia Chiumburu, on the strength of evidence produced by the State.
