Twelve local designers commemorated the City of Bulawayo with 120 garments on the runway. They were Clothing Indaba Winner Sanah Designs (Saneliso Mpofu), Bulawayo Polytechnic Fashion Students, Penelope Lacha and Zanele Dube, Chinhoyi University student Lorraine Rusire, Award Winning Umlongo (Wani Baker), Rags, Crox Designs, Shadow by Sidumiso, Ara Kani, Ganu Creations who recently showcased at the SADC Fashion Week, the Bulawayo Board of Designers and Guest Designer Tapfumanei Munenge – fresh from the Soweto Fashion Week.

The show celebrated people from the streets as well as famous models – who included actress Evey Mwatse, ZBC TV Presenter Nyasha Mtamangira, Djembe Monks Dj Slimzar Wa Afrika, Club DJ King Staffa, Face Of Africa Representative Holakele Dlamini and professional models from Bulawayo.

The show also featured plus-size models, which was a challenge for designers to cater for real women. “We come from a part of Africa where we have curvy women, so designers must celebrate and acknowledge them,” said the organisers.
