Zanu (PF) orders Munya to marry girlfriend

The increasingly desperate and unpopular Zanu (PF) party, which had attached itself to the fame of losing Big Brother contestant, Munyaradzi Chidzonga, was stung this week following reports that he was separating from his live-in girlfriend, Adiona Maboreke.

Afraid of being associated with a ‘divorced and irresponsible’ Munya who dumped his wife and 10-month-old son, Pfumai, the former ruling party immediately ordered Munya, or Diamond Boy as he is known, to get back together with his girlfriend.

The young actor has been pictured carousing with beauty queen, Lisa Morgan. Adiona looked after their prematurely born son while he competed in the All Stars Big Brother contest in 2010.

After losing out, Munya and his wife were serenaded by President Robert Mugabe and Zanu (PF) supporters at State House amid promises that he would marry the mother of his young son.

The Zimbabwean can reveal that, following reports of the split, emissaries were sent to Chidzonga’s family by Zanu (PF) officials protesting that they had ‘wasted’ time and money, including that of Robert Mugabe, amounting to more than $300 000 in cash and towards hosting the visit to State House after Munya failed to win the $200 000 Big Brother contest.

Munya’s ‘reunion’ with his girlfriend was announced by Zanu (PF) propaganda mouthpiece, The Herald, quoting a certain Joe Tichaona, who was wheeled out to speak on behalf of the family.

“The couple had seen some differences that sparked the ‘break up’ but have decided to work through this situation as they have been appalled by responses from certain sections of the media, a development which deeply upset his fans,” he said in a lame statement which appeared to be laced with Zanu (PF) intolerance towards the private media for exposing the break up.

However, Adiona Maboreke is understood to have left the couple’s Chisipite home in the northern suburbs to live with a relative in Harare, and Munya admitted that he had never had any plans to marry the former Idols contestant in weekend interviews.

“Adiona and I never really intended to get married. The only reason I got to stay with her was because during her pregnancy, she suffered from high blood pressure,” he said.

After arriving from South Africa, he sensationally reveals that he was snatched from the airport and presented to Mugabe, together with Adiona as his wife, leaving him with no option but to play along with the ageing dictator’s lack of information.

“From there (airport) I found myself at State House, in front of the President, being introduced as Munyaradzi Chidzonga and his wife. I was shocked but I could not tell the President that she was only a mother to my child and not my wife. I was overwhelmed by events. What would you have done?” he said.

Munya is believed to be the ambassador for the country’s controversial Chiadzwa diamonds, through an Indian firm which is being used by the Zanu (PF) side of government to sell the blood diamonds in Europe. The Indian company reportedly gave him a diamond studded ring worth $20 000.
