How low can you go?

That Zanu (PF) has placed its future into the hands of a convicted rapist turned self-appointed prophet is clear evidence that the party has run out of credible leadership with any ideas of improving the quality of life of Zimbabweans.

Entrusting such dubious characters with delivering the partys message to the people not only shows political bankruptcy, but also bad taste and poor judgement. We are not surprised that the rapist celebrated his presidential pardon with a dagga-smoking, booze-fuelled sex orgy.

This shows just how low Zanu (PF) has sunk. Like all other instances where the law has been broken by Zanu (PF) supporters, the police turned the other way. The Attorney General even graced the occasion. So did the Minister of Information.

Elsewhere in this newspaper we carry a story about Zanu (PF) youths fleecing market-stall holders in return for protection. This is despicable. Here we have poor Zimbabweans trying to make an honest living selling vegetables and other wares. And Zanu (PF) thugs take their earnings. The fact that these vendors feel helpless, with no-one to turn to, is a serious indictment against our police force.

The vendors know that the Zanu (PF) youths are untouchable. They are above the law. What this does, however, is to show the people which party NOT to vote for come election time. No-one in his or her right mind is going to cast their vote for a party that torments them throughout the year, and then wants their vote at election time. Then it will be pay-back time.
